By now you may have heard of foam jacking, a quicker and more convenient method when it comes to repairing damaged concrete. Foam jacking is a process that allows you to quickly restore cracked or uneven areas of concrete to level ground without having to worry about the expensive process of repaving.

In addition to saving money, foam jacking also allows you to save time. One of the most inconvenient aspects of repaving is that it puts your driveway, sidewalk, or other concrete area out of commission for a long period of time. But with foam jacking, you won’t have that concern.

Let’s explore how foam jacking works step by step.

Step One: Creating Injection Holes

Foam jacking begins with the drilling of small holes into your existing concrete to provide an entry point for the foam. The holes are about the size of a dime and penetrate below the concrete itself. Next, the foam injection gun is connected to a delivery device that feeds into the holes, so that the foam will be funneled down below the concrete when the gun is engaged.

Worried about the appearance these holes will leave on your concrete? There’s no need to be. Because the holes are so small, they’ll be barely noticeable by the time the process is complete.

Step Two: Foam Injection

Your concrete will be lifted with polyurethane foam. This unique material is injected slowly into the holes that have been created, causing your concrete to gradually begin to rise. Although foam jacking is an expedient process, this stage is done fairly slowly so that the team can carefully assess how much lift your concrete is getting with each addition of foam—after all, the last thing you want is for it to be elevated too much! The foam will expand as it’s injected, filling any voids under your concrete that have caused it to sag.

Step Three: Beautiful Property

At this point, your foam jacking journey is complete! You may choose to fill in the drill holes and any cracks in your concrete. To do this, it’s not necessary to repave the whole property, so it’s a much easier process.

It’s also worth knowing that you and anyone else is free to walk across the surface of your concrete at any time during the foam jacking process. Once it’s finished, your property will be ready to use again, no waiting.
